I found that ESL Students need a lot of both listening and practice in order to learn English. Thus, I would use a variety of activities which promote listening. However, in order to make sure the students are getting a balanced level of instruction, I always included in my lessons activities which included listening, speaking, reading and writing. Also, I made sure that each lesson included the use of all learning modalities,i.e. auditory, visual and kinesthetic.
