You have raised some good questions. I have found in my ESL Teaching experience that strategies used for teaching ESL to one group of students can be applied universally to all students. With that in mind, I would suggest that you include the following strategies: 1. Use lots of Visuals in your teaching; 2. Use hands-on learning activities, as well as cooperative group and pair activities; 3. Look at your role as being a facilitator of learning rather than being a lecturer; 4. Provide instruction using all learning modalities- auditory, visual and kinesthetic; 5. Use a variety of activities including role-play, music, and pair practice; 6. Include in each lesson activities that require students to use listening, speaking, reading and writing.
