Kelsi,
My recommendation would be to use lots of visuals, pictures, and TPR (Total Physical Response) when teaching your students. This will help them to begin to develop vocabulary words that they can use again and again. Also, I would concentrate on more listening and speaking activities, and less on reading and writing activities for the time being.
