Re Teaching english as a second language
By:Turnoi

Joy, there are many other teachers having the same problem with overcrowded and noisy classes. For teachers in the West, there is something they are studying during their teacher training - it is classroom management. In other words, it is up to the teacher to keep his/her class under control; if not, it is the teacher's failure and not that of the kids. That is because kids are kids, and you as a teacher are the adult entrusted with their care.

It seems that your kids are bored, and if it is like that, you might have to change your methods of teaching. I suggest you forget about the textbook for a while and keep the children busy with other activities - have them play games where they could use and practice language by which they will also learn the same. You could have sing them songs, have them perform some dance while using English in class, etc.

And reduce your lesson to 45 minute duration maximum; children will lose concentration if the lesson takes longer.

You will find some free material for activities,
