Dear Joe,

It is essential you set limitations concerning the language your students use by telling them off in the most polite manner you are only capable of any time you hear something inappropriate. You need to make them understand that within the academic framework common rules of politeness in the language (no matter which, actually) are still to be observed. This suggestion of mine may sound too restrictive, but it is still profitable.
