I am trying to formulate my first adult beginner ESL class. I was told that the class retention rate is low. It starts out with 35 students, and throughout the semester there is only 8-12 students. All/Most of my students are Mexicans, and some are illiterate in their language. How do I make my first class interesting and fun? I want to entice them to come back for the second class. I speak conversational Spanish, but I do not want to depend on teaching English in Spanish. Thank You
