I am an American now living in Jordan. I do not have a background in teaching. My whole background has been in IT. I am currently working for a training center and they would like me to teach conversational English to people who are in their 20's and 30's. I was told that the students know very little English. I really have no idea where to start. I know that I would like to teach English. I have always liked teaching people what I know. Can someone give me some clear instructions on how I should start the class. Many thanks in advance for your help.
