teaching without textbook or curriculum or degree, please help me!
By:Rio

I'm a native English speaking teenager studying abroad in Germany for a year, and I was asked to tutor a man (30 yrs, I think) in English. We had our first lesson last night, and there's another one tonight.

He's picked up a little bit from films (read: how to translate his Bosnian address), but his English is pretty much nonexistent. On top of that, there's the problem of his German being accented and mine being worse, so we have trouble communicating. English is his third language, and I don't want to steer him wrong.

Last night we did introductions (such as Hello, my name is, nice to meet you, I come from, etc.), numbers, days of the week, months of the year, and other basics like that. I am aware I will have to continue to repeat these concepts, but I am unsure how I should continue these lessons.

Any advice or help is so much more than welcome. Please.
