Eton Foreign Language School has been opened for almost 4 years in Yingkou and over this time we have built an excellent reputation as the best school for learning English in the city. We have very happy and loyal customers and its incredible seeing how our students have improved over the last 3 years. We teach students from 3-16 years of age in small classes, and use the CLIL teaching method (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CLIL) to teach our students not just a language, but also knowledge of other subjects and cultures. We are using the Footprints textbook from Macmillan publishers and Playtime from the Oxford University Publishers, we find it a really effective and interesting course book for language acquisition. The school has recently moved into a brand new purpose built school which offers fantastic facilities (air conditioned classrooms, interactive whiteboards etc) combining with small class sizes (max 8 students per class for aged 3-6 years old students, and max 12 students per class for aged 7-16 years old students.)

The owner
Nana Wen – The owner of Eton Foreign Language School, funded the school around 4 years ago, and since has guided it to becoming one of the best English schools in the city. After graduating with a degree in management from Royal Holloway, University of London, she worked for British Consulate General in Shanghai. After she resigned from the consulate, she decided to come back to her hometown. Her vision was to return to her hometown and bring an excellent education to the children here. Not just teaching them a language, but inspiring an interest in other countries and cultures, bring a better education and open their minds to the world. After 4 year’s practice, she would like to expand this career further, and we are looking for the right members to join our team.

The City
Bayuquan is the development zone of Yingkou City, Liaoning province. It's part of the '5 points one line' government development policy, which means we are seeing extremely rapid development here. It's an exciting time to be here as they expect the population to increase from 500,000 to 1 million in the next year. It's clean, easy to get around and the people are friendly. Due to the rapid expansion there are thousands of new homes which are built to an excellent standard, meaning your living conditions will be better than larger cities. There is a new world class theatre which shows everything including Bollywood, orchestras and the Russian ballet. There is also a brand new fully stocked library which has an excellent cafe. Yingkou is located between Dalian and Shenyang, two of the biggest and most important cities in the northeast of China. Thanks to the newly completed fast train it's possible to get to Dalian in around 30-40 minutes and Shenyang in around an hour. There are 4 distinct seasons where it is cold and dry in the winter, but the summers are warm, sunny and all round beautiful.
