The Business School is an independent college run by Yunnan Normal University . It was approved by the Yunnan Provincial Education Department and confirmed by the State Education Commission. It is one of the Yunnan undergraduate colleges of regular higher education.

While relying on Yunnan normal University, the Business School is relatively independent. It aims at training specialized personnel who have sound theoretical basis, better practical ability and outstanding comprehensive qualities. The School centers on assuring the teaching quality and developing students' quality. Besides its modern educational technology and first-class faculty, it is run with totally new systems that include career-oriented education, ability-streamlined teaching and training, individualized education programs, together with academic research, standardized management and individualized students services to suit each of their needs.

In the past four years, the Business School has become the highlight of Yunnan higher educational development. Having more than 8500 on-campus students, it is among the largest independent schools in Southwest China . It has received good comments from lots of experts at the same trades.

Garden-like School: Located in the New High-tech District in Kunming, the school has the capacity of holding 9000 students. The extensive sports and other basic facilities provide students with good living conditions. In 2001 it was given the title of “Garden-like School” by Kunming Municipal Government.

Digital Campus: The school emphasizes the construction of an information campus. It has developed a broadband campus network that includes electronic teaching and administration system, electronic reading and bulletin board, universal campus card, and multimedia-equipped classrooms. The 100M broadband is available both in dormitories, classrooms and other public places.

Facing the Market is the feature of courses and specialties. Closely related to the market and social development, the school has set up 10 Departments, including Foreign Trade, Computer Science and Technology, English, Artistic Education, and E-Commerce. Its teaching programs cover 15 majors for four-year undergraduates, with a total of 43 academic directions.

The school employs more than 700 highly qualified teaching staff (including 12 foreign language experts), among which doctors, masters and post-graduates account for 39.2%, professors and associate professors take 36.1%.
