Welcome to Shanghai High School International Division (SHSID)!

Shanghai High School is located in the southwest corner of Shanghai. Established in 1865, the campus has an overall size of 340 MU (223,617 Square Meter), and is historically one of the most well known schools in China and around the world. On June 1, 1993 The Shanghai Education Committee approved the establishment of the Shanghai High School International Division (SHSID). In 1995, SHSID became a member of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO).

SHSID enrolls around 2005 students from over 50 different nations and regions, including, USA, Japan, Korea, Canada, Australia, Italy, Great Britain, Poland, Iran, India, and Norway. The academic program is 1-12, culminating in the two-year International baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program and Advanced Placement Program (AP) for senior students and above.

The SHSID provides an international education that emphasizes academic excellence as well as the fullest development of one’s potentials, and aims to contribute to the lifelong development of the students.

SHSID offers a curriculum that stresses the subjects of Mathematics, Language, Science and Technology. In an age of worldwide globalization, multiple language communication is another main concern of SHSID.

The SHSID policies, which have been established in terms of the school’s unique character, serve to provide an optional environment for learning and teaching within a caring community.

All members of the SHSID are expected to share responsibility in helping to sustain a school environment where the rights of all are respected.
