Our university is the first Chinese joint-venture university in the Yanbian Autonomous Prefecture.

In the new millennium, every major country has begun a campaign to become the leader of the world. The outcome will not be determined by military power or politics, but by the human capital and economic power of the country, and their ability to increase the human welfare.

Because economic power depends on creative and scientific advances, we need to help the young people of China to mature, so that they will be fit to do their duty in promoting peace and prosperity throughout the world.

After five years of preparation, with the help of the government of the People’s Republic of China and numerous foreign volunteers, our university was founded in 1992 . Our location is in China’s Yanbian area, which we believe will be a center for northeast Asia in the 21st century. We have made a firm determination to operate according to the principles of creativity, cooperation and selfless service in accordance with the motto of our university, which is ’truth, peace, love.”

In order that our students can live up to the spirit of their great ancestors and lead meaningful lives, we will educate and serve them with true love. Our purpose is that they would become leaders for the next generation, prepared to thrive in ever-changing China and the world at large.

The professors of our university are good models for our students. Many of them, after working hard to earn degrees from famous universities, have given up comfortable lives and a chance for fame. Now they are investing themselves in the work of developing our students' holistic being. For our students, we hope that the purpose of their education is not to achieve a great reputation or wealth, but rather to serve one's own people, one’s country, and the world. That is what we teach our students.
