Nanhai Experimental Middle School (abbr. NHEMS) is located in Guicheng Nanhai District Foshan, Guangdong Province, the heart of the Pearl River Delta. Nanhai is one of the "four tigers" in Guangdong Province because of its fast developing economy and high living level. It is one of the earliest cities that have achieved prosperity in China. It is about ten kilometers away from Guangzhou.

The school was established under the programming of Nanhai municipal government. Situated on Guilan Road, Guicheng District, the school has an area of 100 mus, that is, about 10,000 square meters. It is designed to have 48 classes and is able to hold 2400 students. The school opened on September 1st, 2001, with about 800 students who had been selected out of more than 1800 applicants.

All the teaching buildings and teaching facilities in the school are well equipped according to the standards of the first-class schools in Guangdong Province. At present, the school is well supplied with a complete series of modern teaching facilities such as advanced and practical digital local area network, high standard computer-rooms, language labs, multi-media teaching rooms and other media rooms for different subjects and laboratories. Our school has everything that one expects to find: multi-functional library, science building, stadium, 400-metre running track and standard swimming pool.
