I have just came back from a year teaching in China. It was both good and bad, and I would just like to share my "bad" experience with those who are interested in teaching in China. I thought it was sth that everyone should watch out for.

First, let me say that if anyone find a job posting from FE or FuYing training center, please don't fall into their trap. The recruiter/employer might sound very friendly and nice, but this school would tell one thing and then tell you sth else later. That's what happened to me with my contract.

I had to go find the government officials/city council to help me resolve my problem since the boss didn't want to buy a regular plane ticket for me. Worst yet, he lied and turned the whole story around, saying i was the one who wanted to change the date of my return to the states when he just didn't want to buy it for me...long story short, he was very angry with what i did in finding the govt. officials and he made me wait for three hours before letting me pick up the plane ticket, and that's ONLY AFTER MY BF APOLOGIZED TO HIM through text message for me. Pretty much, he was getting back for what i did and he lied through the whole thing...

I learned my lesson from them and let's say that I can thank them for showing me how scamming people in China can be...For those who are going to china to teach in the future, keep in mind to protect your rights and get what you deserve, if you ever come up with any problems, usually it's no use finding the foreign affairs office, just go DIRECTLY to the city council or the highest city government officials! They should help you to solve your problems!
