Shanghai Expo Park opens from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00p.m., and the opening time lasts 15 hours per day. Of course, the main visiting content of Expo tour – individual pavilions opens later and closes earlier than the park does, which usually starts from 9:30 a.m. and lasts 10:30 p.m.

All expo visitors need to enter the park before 9:00 p.m. and leave before 12:00 p.m. The night-ticket holders arrange their entering time between 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Three steps are included in the process of entering Expo Park – pre-inspection, safety inspection and checking of ticket. Special admission holders should bring related valid documents when checking of ticket. Children under1.2 meters will be complementary but need accompany with their parents.

To heighten the visiting efficiency, reservation is necessary. Visitor can take advantage of the pavilion reservation system provided by the organizers. Reservation of Shanghai Expo includes two types, and one is the advanced group reservation and the other the individual reservation in the park. For individual visitors, there are two choices – the comprehensive reservation and the single pavilion reservation.

Comprehensive reservation is mainly for China Pavilion and Theme Pavilions. China Pavilion is only opened to the visitors who have made a reservation before. To visit five Theme pavilions, visitors can make a reservation assisted by volunteers when entering the park. More than 170 reservation machines are set in the each entrance of the park.

Single pavilion reservation is for International Pavilions and Enterprise Pavilions. Different from the comprehensive reservation machines which are set in the park entrances, the single pavilion reservations machines are set in front of each pavilion.

Five times reservations could be made by one Single Day Admission. There are about 130 pavilions in Expo Park, and therefore it might be an impossible mission to experience all pavilions. According to the Official, it is advised that visitors tour 2 to 3 popular pavilions with 5 to 6 other byway pavilions in a day. The proper visiting time in the park would be 7 to 8 hours including visiting pavilions, watching performances, dinning and break time.
