By:BoBo Wang

Qingdao locates in the southern tip of Shandong Peninsula facing Yellow Sea. With moderate climate and beautiful sceneries, Qingdao is a seashore city of red tiles, green trees and blue sky and sea. As one of the most popular tourist destinations in China, Qingdao provides numerous featured attractions waiting for your appreciation.

Badaguan scenic spot is a gathering of different style architecture, and it is called the international architecture exhibition. More than 20 countries styles of architecture could be found in this place, Russia, Britain, France, Germany, America, Denmark, Greece, Span, Switzerland, Japan, etc. Another feature of Badaguan is that people could guess the names of the roads according to the plants grown on the sides as one single road is only for one kind of flowers. Many foreigners once saw such beautiful roads give this place a beautiful name – the Flower Streets.

The Government House is one of the most famous architecture of Qingdao. Built in 1903, the Government House was situated in the south slope of Guanhaishan Mountain. Its superior and overwhelming location creates a natural momentum of authority, dignity and solemnity. The building was designed by a German architect according to 19th century European art form of public architecture design. The exterior of the building is made of granite stone, and the roof is covered by red pantiles. The whole building now still looks solemn and graceful.

Strolling westward from the Government House, you will see two huge crosses supported by red spire towers hiding in the flourishing trees. That church is the famous St. Michael’s Church, and the locals are used to calling it Catholic Church. The church was built in 1930s, and is the largest-scale Gothic architecture in Qingdao which is also the masterpiece of Christian Architecture.

Laoshan Mountain, located at the seashore of Yellow Sea, is a famous Taoist mountain in China. Remarkable rocks and queer caves as well as clear springs and flowing cascades make up the fantastic view of Laoshan. The main attractions include Beijiushui, Shangqing Palace, Taiqing Palace, Longtan Waterfall, Taiping Palace, Mingxia Cave, Beizhai Agricultural Eco-Tourism Area, Jufeng Scenic Area, etc.
