Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall
Dedicated to local hero and founder of the Republic of China Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall can be found on Yuexiu Hill. A popular time to visit is at sunset as an impressive panoramic view of the city can be seen from here, while visitors will be greeted by a five-meters high statue of the man himself outside the main hall.
Temple of Six Banyan Trees
Built during the Liang dynasty, the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees is one of the most famous temples in the whole of Guangzhou. The temple was originally built in order to enshrine a collection of sacred Buddhist relics that were brought here from India and dates back to the year 537. These relics can be found in a pretty octagonal pagoda, which measures an impressive 57 meters and contains 17 stories.

Chen Family Ancestral Temple
Constructed during the Qing district by local people, the Chen Family Ancestral Temple is used by members of the Chen family, who travel to Guangzhou to prepare for imperial examinations. Built in the 19th century, this large and lovely building has been extremely well preserved and houses the Guangdong Museum of Folk Art as well as a large collection of sculptures and statues created by local artists.

Shamian Island
Situated at the side of the Pearl River, Shamian Island is actually a sandbank, which features an interesting collection of colonial buildings dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. While it is possible to use public transportation to travel to Shamian Island, those who want to fully explore the island and surrounding area should be able to book a hire car with a driver through their discount Guangzhou hotel.

White Cloud Mountain
The perfect place for trekking and breathing in the fresh mountain air, the summit of White Cloud Mountain is often wreathed with clouds. However, those who climb the mountain on a clear day will be treated to stunning views of the whole of Guangzhou and the surrounding area. White Cloud Mountain consists of 30 peaks and there are a large number of interesting attractions to explore at the top including a range of historical relics, Yuntai Garden, the Sculpture Park and Baiyun Chute.

Yuexiu Park
An ideal spot to explore on a sunny day, Yuexiu Park can be found in Guangzhou’s downtown district. Those in need of a little stimulation will find plenty to amuse and entertain such as the onsite Journey to the West theme park, while those who want to relax for a while can simply sit under the shade of a tree and soak up the scenery. Many Guangzhou hotels can be found close to Yuexiu Park, and lucky visitors may even be treated to glimpses of the park from their rooms.

Dongfang Amusement Park
The largest and most popular amusement park in the whole of Guangzhou, Dongfang Amusement Park is extremely popular. Those who feel the need for speed will want to ride on the steel roller coaster known as the Lin Zhong Flying Squirrel, while other entertainment options here include wandering around scale models of folklore buildings in the World Park and watching folk dancing performances.
