Medical exam for a 6-month contract

I have a six-month contract and work visa in China.
In order to get a Z visa, it was necessary to have a medical certificate. ( it doesn`t matter the length of the contract ). I went to a special hospital for foreigners and the school paid 450RMB for my medical exam. ( more than 50 USD )
My question is if a medical certificate from abroad is valid in China ?
Just for a F-visa ( business visa ) and L-visa ( tourist visa ), one doesn`t need a medical exam.
