By:Travel Expert

Take a break from your hectic schedules and pack those bags for a quick, yet cheap exhilarating tour to one of the most famous tourist destinations in the world: China.
If you are on a budget, no need to worry. There are several do-it-yourself travels that you will enjoy even if you are on a tight budget.

Travelling to the world's most populous country would be more exciting if you will explore not only the major cities but also the outlying countryside. From the bustling cities to the quiet mountain sides, China will definitely take your breath away. So, take your papers and pens and take down these tips for your dream travel to China to come true.
First of all, plan your travel itinerary. It must include the places you want to visit most. Other than the major cities like Beijing, Xi'an and Shanghai, there are other exotic places in China that is rich with ancient cultural beauty.

China has an amazing countryside, with breathtaking views in places such as Luoyang where thousands of Buddha statues had been carved dating back 1500 years ago. The Terra Cotta soldiers are quite impressive but the Longmen Grottoes can equal it's beauty. A cruise along the Yangtze River can either dampen or calm your mood with its temperamental landscape and the little quiet towns along its banks.

Also, wouldn't you want to be in the landscape that has inspired magnificent Chinese paintings? Then, visit Guilin where the hills, rivers, rice terraces, and countryside will make you forget all your worries! A short excursion to other parts of the country will definitely bring out the adventurer in you.

It is important to have all your travel documents at hand, especially your passport. It is needed for exchanging currencies. You can exchange your currencies, in traveler's checks, or in cash, in most of the major hotels and banks in the country. Keep your exchange receipts well, just in case you might need to exchange your money back to your original currency upon departure from China. The official currency in mainland China is the Renminbi or "People's currency" and the basic unit is the yuan.

It would also be easier for you to pick your next destination if you have English-language magazines. These are available in the two major cities of Beijing and Shanghai. These will keep you up to date on the recent information on museums, galleries, restaurants, bars, sporting events, and a whole lot more! If you are going to the towns, just pick a basic Chinese language book for better communication.

Aside from these precautions, you must also take note of the cultural diversity in China and consider proper etiquette. The Chinese are generally shy and modest. Handshake is the most public display that you will observe because even couples are not seen to hold hands in China. Please keep this in mind when you are traveling with a loved one. Also, taking photos of people without their consent is considered extremely rude so you must also avoid doing this, or at least ask permission if you want to take some pictures.

These are the tips that you must keep in mind when planning to take a trip to China. When visiting China, you have to respect the traditions and etiquette so that you can make the most of your exploits in this amazing country.
