Discover 7 Important Tips on How to Relocate to Australia
By:Benny Horowitz

G'day mate! Australia is the world's sixth largest country and the largest island. Australia has a lot going for it, the climate, the sunshine, cold beer, excellent wine and food, and white sandy beaches. Here I'll share the top important tips on how to relocate to Australia:

1. Australia requires visas for every person who enters the country. If you want help with visas contact the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.

2. Before you relocate to Australia, try to secure a job beforehand. All working Australians need a Tax File Number (TFN) to work, for more details visit the Australian Tax Office. It is simple to apply for and will take a couple of weeks to obtain.

3. Once you've chosen where to live, your next challenge is to find a home to live in. Renting before buying a property gives you a chance to settle in and find out about the different suburbs before property investing. If you're not an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia and want to buy real estate, you must get prior approval from the Australian Government.

4. Australia has a public health system funded by 1.5% Income Tax, however the Government actively encourages people to have private health insurance, and it is a requirement of your working visa. Check into this before you relocate to Australia.

5. There are two main types of bank accounts, Savings Accounts (pays interest) and Cheque Accounts (has a cheque book). To open a bank account, you will need to meet the 100 points system - the number of points varies for different ID documents, e.g. passport = 70 points. Check with the bank what is needed.

6. The Australian dollar is the national currency. You can't do a direct currency conversion to determine what it costs to live in Australia. It's all relative to how much money you make, your accommodation, what city/town you will live in, etc.

7. The Australia culture is strongly influenced by United States, British and European culture. Australians are very friendly and helpful people, with a great sense of humor and a natural ability to tell jokes.

If you want to start living a life that is casual and laid-back, then the land down under is for you! Hopefully, the tips I've mentioned will help in your decision to relocate to Australia.
