Information on Australia
By:John H Cooper

I love Australia and I think it's one of the best countries in the world. I've decided to write the following article to inform you about general information in regards to this country. I hope you find this article informative and enjoyable to read. If you ever go to this country you'll never want to go home.

The current sovereign is Queen Elizabeth II like England and she's been the sovereign since 1952. Since 2008 Quentin Bryce as been the Governor-General and Julia Gillard was recently elected as the Prime Minister early this year.

Everyone knows this country is one of the largest in the world and the current land area is 2,941,283 square miles and the population is currently 21,515,754. The growth rate is around 1.1% and the infant mortality rate is 4.67/1000. The life expectancy is around 81.7 which is similar to England. The currently birth rate is 12.4/1000.

The capital of Australia is Canberra although many people think this is Sydney. The population is currently 327,700. There are other large cities in the country which have a high population such as Sydney which has 4,250,100, Melbourne which has 3,610,800, Brisbane; 1,545,700, Perth: 1,375,200 and Adelaide which has 1,087,600.

The continent of this country is the state of Tasmania is equal in size/area to the UK (including Hawaii and Alaska).

From the North to the South the mountain range runs and the highest point is 7,308 ft which is Mount Kosciusko.

If you go to this country I would always recommend taking plenty of sun cream as it can become very hot. I would also recommend taking a hat and sunglasses to protect you from the sun. The country is closer to the equator so do not spend all day out in the sun as you may easily damage your skin.

John Cooper would advise you to purchase from Edreams http://www.ecomparison.co.uk/edreams/.
