English schools in Asia

Thailand - Bangkok and Pattaya
School:Regent's School

The Regent’s School is accredited by WES - UK (Ofsted Inspectors), also a member of Council of International Schools (CIS) and recognised by the Diplomatic Corps in Thailand for their children.

The School is a member of Federation of British International Schools in Southeast Asia (FOBISSEA) which provides opportunities for international sports and exchanges (www.fobissea.org)

The Regent’s School is a member of the prestigious Round Square Association, with its President, HM King Constantine and HRH Prince Andrew, Board Member, as patrons (www.roundsquare.org). Round Square schools believe it is their obligation to produce well rounded leaders for our future global community. Round Square schools instill six values at the heart of all their students do, both within and beyond the classroom. These six values are known as the Six Pillars. Taken in the 'right' order, their first letters memorably and appropriately spell out IDEALS: International awareness, Democracy, Environmental responsibility, Adventure, Leadership and Service to others. Our sense of achievement as a School comes from translating these IDEALS into practical realities.

There are over 42 nationalities at both campuses, but 85% of 6th formers (Year 12 and 13 students) are international mostly Europeans. There are many scholarship programmes including Global Connect, Diplomatic and Ministerial Connect Scholarships and music scholarship at both of our campuses.

Oxford, Cambridge, King’s College-London, ImperialCollege, Stanford, MIT, Wharton, National University of Singapore and SeoulNationalUniversity are among the prestigious universities which have offered places to our recent graduates at both campuses, in some cases with full scholarships. In October 2007, four (two from each campus) of our graduating class have been invited by OxfordUniversity for interview, one by CambridgeUniversity.

We believe that the key to our success is the quality of our teaching staff. All our main teachers possess "Qualified Teaching Status (QTS)." We place top priority on recruiting of our teachers. There are no less than 1200 applications responding to our recruiting advert each year. Aside from foreign language teachers, all of our teaching staffs are native English speakers and nearly 90% are British.
