Teaching primary school kids Spelling, Language, PE, Art, and Social Studies is an amazing experience. They are bundles of energy and eager to have a great time. At Balboa City School in China, you will be working less than you are in your home country (around 15-18 hours per week including teaching and office hours) while growing more as an individual. You’ll walk into class every day to bright eyed 8 year olds shouting “Hello Teacher!” and you’ll spend your day painting or sculpting, playing tag outside, and helping them to learn about the world. You’ll feel confident about teaching because you’ve been through our initial training program and your administrator, a westerner as well, will be conducting observations, feedback sessions, and ongoing developmental workshops. In the evening you’ll head back to the apartment we provide for you and have plenty of time to unwind and read that stack of books you’ve never had the time to read. You can go to the park and learn Tai Chi, sample amazing new foods or learn Mandarin.

Balboa City School is a private American school from San Diego, California. Because we are an American program in China you’ll need to be able to qualify for a work visa in China which general means being from a native English speaking country and under the age of 63. Coming over to China to teach primary school, with Balboa, will be the life changing experience.
