When you consider that you can rent a one bedroom studio apartment five minutes from the school for around $65(£55) per month and you can eat 3 large meals a day for less than $7.5(£6) in total (all in restaurants), it's easy to see that it's possible to save significant sums of money with this salary.
Additional information:
Ningbo is a super-modern and rapidly developing city in the East of China, very close to Shanghai and Hangzhou (the end of the old Silk Road).
The population of Ningbo is around 7 million and it has a friendly and active community of expats, mostly working as teachers and in the foreign trade industry.
Additionally, whenever people visit China they are amazed at the scale of everything, and surprised with how advanced the country actually is. Forget your preconceptions and experience China for yourself!
