ESL Teacher--High School/University Prep

Based in San Francisco, CA, American Academy of English is a high school and university prep school for international students founded in 1982. AAE prepares students for the rigors of the U.S. Educational system through daily intensive instruction in small classes with trained TEFL instructors. Our students complete a three to six month course at one of our centers before continuing for another 3 months at our school in San Francisco. Upon completion of our course, our students directly transfer to private high schools, community colleges, or four-year universities in California and throughout the US. AAE maintains long-term relationships with students and their families beyond completion of our course through ongoing academic, cultural adjustment, and visa management assistance.

AAE also has a demonstrable, successful history with all of our teachers. Our teachers have worked with us for an average of over 4 years and we pride ourselves in providing a rewarding, respectful employment environment for all of our staff. Our teachers take pride in helping all of our students improve their English and critical reasoning ability in preparation for further success at the university level.

AAE is currently expanding to 7 more locations in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Foshan in Guangdong province. We are looking to hire motivated, enthusiastic ESL teachers for 2016 and beyond. Successful applicants are:

*U.S. or Canadian native
*100-hour TEFL/TESL/TESOL certificate holder
*Bachelor's Degree holder (or higher)
*22 years or older

We have a strong preference for teachers with experience teaching middle and high school students, but as all of our teachers go through training before beginning teaching classes, experience is not necessary.

Salary and benefits for teachers include:

*Competitive Salary: 13,000 to 18,000 RMB per month depending on experience and ability
*Return flight ticket upon completion of one-year contract. Round trip ticket provided for teachers who wish to sign a contract extension
*Sponsored Z working visa
*One week paid holiday in February for Chinese New Year
*Rent-free furnished apartment to be shared with other AAE teachers, or a private housing subsidy up to 2,500RMB/month. Utilities and foreign-residence tax to be paid by employee
*Arrival and living support on hand 24 hours a day for any assistance and help with settling in
*Chinese Lessons provided by our staff, or assistance in finding a private Chinese tutor
*Small student class sizes: (1-10 students/ class)
*Teacher assistants
